The Melting Pot
Saturday, December 11
10 - 3pm

‘The Melting Pot’ is a display of the richness of culture and artistic flare.

The exhibition includes the works of five Turkish artists, a tribal jewellery designer, a wood sculptor and three abstract artists.

Award winning Turkish miniature artist Gulay Pelin is recognised as one of Australia’s distinct miniature artists. Her unique and contemporary art charmingly bridges Turkish miniature from past to present. She is sharing her space with four Turkish artists capturing a rich cultural essence in their paintings. Their display includes Turkish food and music providing an authentic experience.

The Jeweller - Tribal beads, semi precious stones, rare ancient faenza Mummy Beads, antique trade beads and hand crafted pieces. All sourced from Europe, the Middle East and India, from Afghani and West African traders in black Harlem and Soho New York, they find their way into the necklaces of local artist Ellie Picone.

The Sculptor –In two years, Italian Maurizio Nannetti, has gone from a high-powered career running his IT company to a full-time, exhibiting artist, crafting wood into exquisite art pieces.

The Painters - Sandy, Toni and Daphne are three friends, their art is inspired by the landscapes they visit.  Turkey and Greece influenced Sandy this year and next year it will be India. All three artists express the form of urban and country landscapes in colour, taking the object beyond illustration to an expression of abstraction.
