This month Changeable Art presents paintings that captured the shifting patterns of reflected light as experienced in Sydney’s recent dust storm. Through innovative detail, bold figurative works in oil and striking photographs the storm not only resulted in the highest air pollution ever recorded for the city, but provided a catalyst to capture some once in a lifetime images.


This sophisticated body of work from 5 artists reflects Summer moods through the use of rich colours and fervent tones. Works include complex portrayals of the sweltering sun with warm reds melding with cool blues. Metallic golds and silvers create evocative landscapes that capture the reflections of Summer and figurative oil paintings illustrate light through their delightful whimsical power.

Artists' foundation and inspiration is drawn from the environment and each artist has a different response that is alluring to the eye. ‘Summer Salon’ offers the viewer insight into the Summer season through these creative depictions.

This month Changeable Art Space presents realistic portrayals of human sensitivities by a gifted tattoo artist, photography from city streets and underground jazz clubs, bold imaginative acrylic works and light pastel landscapes.

This elaborate body of work from 6 artists echoes a diverse range of talents and moods expressing modern experiences through classic mediums. Each artist capturing a moment in time ‘Uno Momento.’

Pieces range from the fine detail and shadow of the human form to light refreshing landscapes and bold rich interiors of city life.

Artists' foundation and inspiration is drawn from Siberian & Taiwanese childhoods, Bohemian upbringings and the culture of the city. ‘Uno Momento’ offers the viewer an escape from the busy existence of everyday life.

Changeable Art

WHAT IS CHANGEABLE ART

Changeable Art is a dynamic art space open in the North Sydney Community Centre. It works as a public gallery on the second Saturday of each month.

The space has given a voice to over 200 artists since its inception on July the 14th 2007. The space works as a public gallery without the pressure of a commercial gallery. It's a program to give emerging and established artists and designers a place to stage their works/designs.

Artists have the opportunity to put a professional exhibition together that runs for one day.

The collaborative exhibitions and performances at Changeable Art present an arts festival to the local community and beyond. It is also a great place to purchase affordable artworks from highly talented artists.

The day includes music and performances in the Civic Park in conjunction with the North Sydney Market.
